Leadership background
Thomson joined CloudBolt from PlexTrac, an AI-powered exposure management and pentest reporting platform, where as chief operating officer he oversaw global sales, marketing, customer success, strategy, and business operations and led the company through its 2026 acquisition by Brinqa. Earlier, he was vice president of sales at Quantum Metric, where ARR grew from $25 million to $100 million during his tenure, and held sales leadership roles at N2W Software, GFI Software, and LogicNow, which was acquired by SolarWinds.
The mandate
CloudBolt said the new leadership will focus on helping enterprises and service providers govern, automate, and optimize costs of cloud, Kubernetes, and AI infrastructure. Thomson said he wants to bring that value to more customers as organizations weigh AI investment against its returns.
Why this matters for GTM teams
Executive appointments can precede changes in strategy, operating cadence, hiring, partnerships, and technology priorities. The useful signal is not the title alone: teams should watch the new leader’s stated mandate, prior playbook, organizational scope, and the initiatives announced during the first two quarters.

This leadership profile is based on the company’s announcement. Roles, transition timing, and biographical details are presented as announced; SalesTools Research does not infer undisclosed succession plans.
