Leadership background

Michel has spent the past two years leading Grange’s property and casualty operations as its chief property and casualty officer. Most recently before Grange, he was President and Chief Underwriting Officer at Trusted Resource Underwriters, and earlier he spent more than two decades at Allstate Insurance, including as President of Allstate Business Insurance and 11 years in Canada as Chief Risk Officer and then President and CEO of Allstate Canada. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.

The mandate

Marnette Perry, chair of the Grange Mutual Holding Company board of directors, said in the release that Michel has been focused on a strategy of significant, profitable growth across both lines of the business. Perry also said Michel is the right person to ensure the enterprise remains strong, stable, and dedicated to its mission and all those it serves.
