- Announcement date: July 23, 2026
Leadership background
Morel most recently served as CEO of Railsr, a payments and embedded finance platform, and previously was CEO of SETL, a blockchain-based financial market infrastructure provider. Earlier he worked at Boston Consulting Group, rising to Senior Partner and Managing Director and leading its Global Capital Markets practice and Private Equity EMEA business. IDnow said he brings more than 30 years of experience in financial services, technology platforms, and regulated environments.
The mandate
IDnow Chair Martin McCourt said Morel will lead IDnow into its next phase of growth, following the June 2026 launch of the IDnow Trust Platform, which marked the company’s expansion beyond traditional identity verification into fraud prevention, authentication, and qualified digital trust services. Morel said his first priority is to listen to customers, colleagues, and partners, after which the company will define and execute its next phase of growth together.
Why this matters for GTM teams
Executive appointments can precede changes in strategy, operating cadence, hiring, partnerships, and technology priorities. The useful signal is not the title alone: teams should watch the new leader’s stated mandate, prior playbook, organizational scope, and the initiatives announced during the first two quarters.
