# Salestools Functions & Endpoints

> A complete catalog of what the Salestools platform and its API/MCP server can do — every function grouped by category, with full technical detail at docs.salestools.io.

This file lists every capability Salestools exposes, whether driven through the product UI, the REST API, or the MCP server. It is a map, not a reference: parameter schemas, auth, rate limits, and response shapes live at [docs.salestools.io](https://docs.salestools.io). Plan gating and pricing live at [salestools.io/pricing.md](https://salestools.io/pricing.md).

Access: the MCP server and REST API are available on Scale and Enterprise plans (see [pricing](https://salestools.io/pricing.md)). All functions below are reachable through the product UI on every plan unless noted.

## Prospecting & Search

- **Prospect search** — structured filters across 1.1B+ people: job title, seniority, department, location, years of experience, and more.
- **Company search** — filter 65M+ companies by industry, headcount, revenue, tech stack, location, growth signals.
- **Lead search** — search your own saved leads/CRM records with the same structured filters.
- **Hiring-intent search** — find companies actively hiring for roles that signal buying intent.
- **Natural-language search parsing** — turn a plain-English prospecting request into structured search filters.
- **Prospect resolution & history** — look up a specific prospect by ID and pull their activity/engagement history.

## Enrichment

- **Waterfall enrichment** — fill in verified emails, direct-dial phones, and firmographic data by cascading across 40+ data sources.
- **Bulk enrichment** — enrich an entire list of leads in one call.
- **Contact & company enrichment** — single-record enrichment for contacts or companies.

## Deep Research

- **Company deep research** — async, agent-run research on a target company (market position, news, funding, org structure).
- **Persona deep research** — async, agent-run research on an individual buyer (role, priorities, recent activity, talking points).
- Requests use a request/poll pattern (submit a job, poll for results) with four credit tiers: quick, standard, deep, and ultra — deeper tiers trade more credits for more thorough research.
- **Research history** — retrieve the latest or any past research job's results.

## AI Sales Agents (Automations)

- **Agent creation** — build an autonomous AI SDR agent from a plain-English brief (ICP, messaging, channels, caps).
- **Lifecycle control** — start, pause, resume, and stop an agent; same controls at the per-prospect level.
- **Prospect assignment** — add prospects to a running agent and list who's currently in it.
- **Stats & status** — live performance stats per agent, plus ROI attribution back to pipeline and revenue.

## Copilot (Human-in-the-Loop Approvals)

- **Approval queue** — list AI-drafted messages awaiting human review, individually or in bulk.
- **Approve, reject, skip, or regenerate** — act on a single drafted message, or apply an action to a batch.
- **Auto-approval rules** — configure conditions under which Copilot drafts send without manual review, and read current autonomy settings.
- **Copilot stats** — approval-rate and turnaround metrics.

## ICP & Persona Profiles (AI Library)

- **ICP profiles** — define target-company shape (industry, size, tech stack, geography); create, read, update, delete, list.
- **Persona profiles** — define target-buyer shape (title, seniority, priorities); create, read, update, delete, list.
- Profiles feed agent targeting and deep research — an agent or research job references a saved ICP/Persona instead of restating filters each time.

## Reply Handling

- **Reply handler profiles** — define how an AI agent classifies and responds to inbound replies (objection handling, meeting booking, escalation rules); create, read, update, delete, list, set default.
